Αναφέρεται ακόμη ότι «οι Σουλιώτες ήταν Αλβανοί (πείτε τους Αρβανίτες). Ήταν δίγλωσσοι, και χριστιανοί. Ήταν οργανωμένοι ανά οικογένειες, (φαμίλιες ή φάρες).Ήταν σκληροτράχηλοι πολεμιστές και ζούσαν πουλώντας προστασία στα χωριά του κάμπου. Όταν εκδιώχθηκαν από το Σούλι, κανείς δεν τους ήθελε στην περιοχή του. Στο πλαίσιο ξεκαθαρίσματος λογαριασμών, πολέμησαν σκληρά τους Τούρκους και αργότερα ηρωοποιήθηκαν».
